Hello,

There is four important notes about choosing a suitable tooth brush for your dog :

  • One size does not fit all: Toothbrushes for humans are not ideal for dogs because they can be too big or small, depending on your dog's breed. Choose the right size brush for your dog's mouth, or consider a finger cot for large dogs that slides easily over your finger for greater flexibility and comfort.
  • Length and angles: Pet toothbrushes come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and finding one with a comfortable angle for your hand and for your pet's mouth is important. The right size, length and angle will make brushing easier for you and also a more enjoyable experience for your dog.
  • Soft bristles: Your dog's toothbrush should always have soft bristles. Tartar builds up within 36 hours so tooth brushing should be a daily routine and soft bristles will be less harsh on your dog's mouth and gums. Replace the toothbrush often as the bristles become worn down and rough.
  • Toothpaste: Dog toothbrushes often come in sets that include dog toothpaste. Never use human toothpaste because this can harm your dog and cause health problems. There are plenty of pet-friendly products available in stores and from your veterinarian.
